grass and minimal underbrush is an effective method for keeping snakes away. As
long as the grass is growing, continue to mow it on a regular basis.

Compost heaps are another attractive spot for snakes to
nest. It provides a cool, shady retreat that keeps them hidden and safe. If you
must have compost piles, be sure they are as far away from your house as
possible to prevent snake intrusion. This includes other piles that provide a
cool place to hide, including bricks, rocks, gravel, and wood.
